Airport Transportation

PRO TIP:  Everyone says to take a taxi from the airport and UBER everywhere else.

If you’re flying into Las Vegas, one cost that can add up is the transportation from the airport to your casino.  So which is better, taxi or Uber?  It depends on the day and time.

Las Vegas introduced flat rate fees for taxis to The Strip.  That means you’ll know in advance what the total cost is and that will be true 24/7.  Option 2 is a rideshare, but it comes with caveats.  They are cheaper during low volume hours and much more expensive during heavy volume hours.  So if you’re coming in on a Monday morning, a rideshare is probably your best option.  Friday night?  Taxi.

Example:  Uber lists a trip from the airport to The Bellagio at $18 on it’s website.  When checked on a Friday night, the lowest price was $34.  It was $50 for Lyft.  That same ride on Lyft on Saturday morning was $18.  A taxi is always a flat fee of $26.

One other issue is time.  Rideshares are farther away from the terminals and the wait times can be long during high volume hours.  Taxis are closer are usually much quicker to catch.

Below is a list of the prices for taxis and the “regular” low volume prices for Uber.  Taxis charge an additional $3 for credit card transactions.
